Lurline Raposo

Lurline is a Registered Clinical  Counsellor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Parenting Coordinator, and the Clinical Director of Allius Counselling. She is a seasoned mental health professional with more than 17 years of clinical experience supporting individuals, couples, children, youth, and families. Across her career, Lurline has worked extensively with highly complex family systems in both British Columbia and Alberta.

Lurline offers a diverse range of counselling models in her approach to treatment. She appreciates the opportunity to support anxiety, developmental trauma, ptsd and family of origin exploration. She supports couples and families using various counselling or mediation interventions. Much of her work is deeply rooted in interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, and family systems perspectives. We cannot heal ourselves in social isolation, as relational connections are critical to good mental health. By incorporating these different modalities, Lurline ensures a comprehensive and effective approach to many challenges that clients may bring.

Lurline is particularly passionate as a play therapist about using Sand Tray Therapy with all ages. The sand tray allows for emotional expression and exploration through the symbolism of the sand tray figures. It provides safety for adults and young people to connect with emotions that may be difficult to access through conversation, while supporting somatic processing and soothing the client’s system. She also has a variety of briefer interventions to resolve trauma and decrease levels of psychological distress as a Master Practitioner of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

Lurline is an active roster member with BC Hear the Child Society, BC Parenting Coordination Society, and she is the Clinical Director and supervisor for the Allius Counselling and Family Mediation Services Team.
