Child-centered, consent based, and trauma-attuned support for kids when they need it most.
At the co-lab, our children & youth support services are grounded in the belief that children and young people deserve to be met with care, curiosity, and respect for their autonomy. We work at a pace that prioritizes emotional safety, developmental readiness, and each child’s unique way of expressing themselves, especially within complex, “high-conflict”, or court-involved family systems.
Our approach centres children’s voices, honours consent, and avoids coercive or one-size-fits-all interventions, creating space for genuine connection, regulation, and healing to unfold in ways that feel safe and meaningful for the child.

child therapy + youth counselling
We recognise that children communicate in many ways, through play, movement, silence, resistance, creativity, or digital spaces, and we attune our work to how each child naturally engages with the world. Our clinicians are trained to meet children where they are, rather than requiring them to adapt to adult expectations, timelines, or emotional norms. This allows trust to develop organically and supports regulation, expression, and relationship-building without pressure or performance.
For children navigating family separation, heightened conflict, or legal involvement, we are especially mindful of the impact of adult systems on their sense of safety and agency. We do not ask children to carry adult concerns, take sides, or move faster than their nervous system allows. Instead, we create predictable, transparent, and developmentally appropriate processes that reduce overwhelm and protect children from feeling responsible for adult decisions or outcomes.
Across all services, our work is trauma-attuned, neuro-affirming, and deeply child-centred. We understand that behaviour is communication, that resistance often reflects wisdom, and that healing happens through relationship—not force. Whether we are providing counselling, play-based therapy, supervised parenting time, or consent-based relationship repair, our focus remains the same: supporting children and young people to feel safer in their bodies, clearer in their voice, and more secure in their relationships.
