support for separating or separated families.

Separation and divorce can be profoundly destabilizing, whether or not children are involved, and navigating these transitions within systems of conflict, grief, or court involvement can add further strain. Our work supports individuals and families through these shifts with a trauma-aware, consent-based, and systems-informed approach that prioritizes safety, clarity, and dignity.

For parents, we offer structured, child-centred support to reduce conflict, clarify roles, and support decision-making that protects children’s emotional and relational wellbeing. For individuals and former partners without children, we provide support focused on boundary-setting, communication, emotional regulation, and disentangling from harmful or high-conflict dynamics.

We work with people at different stages of separation and across varying levels of contact, always prioritizing safety, accountability, and respect. We do not force collaboration, reconciliation, or outcomes that compromise wellbeing. Our role is to support sustainable, ethical pathways forward—whether that involves coordination, parallel processes, or supported disengagement.

we specialize in supporting separated families

The first step for all of our separated family services is a required virtual intake session. Intake sessions are completed online, typically with each parent or caregiver separately, to assess fit, readiness, and safety, and to determine the most appropriate service structure.

Following intake, services are offered in either a shuttle format, with participants in separate rooms or virtual spaces, or a collaborative format, with participants in the same room or virtual space when appropriate (and with the consent of each participant). The format may shift over time based on clinical assessment, safety, and participant readiness.
