Get started with Amanda

Amanda is a Clinical Counsellor whose warm, attuned, and creative presence invites children, teens, parents, and families to step gently into change. With a master’s education in counselling and accreditation with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCC), Amanda brings both professional credibility and heartfelt care to her work.

Amanda understands how challenging it can feel when anxiety, trauma, transition, or neurodivergence, quietly or loudly, hold a family back from the connection they hope for. She uses a strengths-based, non-judgmental, and welcoming approach to help clients recognize their unique capacities, build emotional regulation, and create meaningful change in everyday life.

Amanda supports a broad range of clients across the lifespan: children, youth, adults, and parents who are experiencing life transitions, co-parenting pressures, anxiety, trauma, or neurodivergence such as ADHD or autism. She is also experienced in working with families navigating separation, court involvement, or high-conflict dynamics.

She brings to the work:

  • Child-friendly and play-based therapy – Amanda is certified in play therapy and uses creative methods (including music-integrated therapy) to help children express feelings, process experiences, and build coping tools in a space that feels safe and fun.

  • Trauma-aware support for adults and parents – With training in Trauma-Focused CBT, Amanda supports individuals who carry the effects of past trauma, anxiety, depression, or nervous-system dysregulation. She helps parents develop emotional clarity, resilience, and supportive strategies for their children and relationships.

  • Neurodiversity-affirming care – Amanda recognizes the unique experiences of neurodivergent clients (children, teens, adults) and works in collaboration with each individual to honour their neurotype, tailor supports, and build self-esteem, regulation and positive identity.

  • Co-parenting, separation and family systems – As part of the co-lab’s ecosystem of supports for families in transition, Amanda offers counselling that attends to the broader system: the child, the adult, the relationships, and the spaces in between. She helps co-parents and families rebuild clarity, safety and connection after separation or conflict.

Whether she is meeting a child for the first time, supporting a parent who feels stuck, or helping a family rebuild after separation, Amanda creates a tailored therapeutic plan that reflects each person’s unique story, strengths, and goals. She honours culture, neurodiversity, and system-impacted lives, grounding her interventions in compassion, respect, and accountability.

If you’re looking for a clinician who combines creativity, trauma-awareness, regulation science, and relational care, Amanda welcomes referrals from families and professionals alike. In her work, she aims to help children feel safe and alive, parents feel confident and connected, and families move toward calmer, clearer, and more supported ways of being together.

Colleagues in legal, educational and clinical systems refer to Amanda because she:

  • brings a trauma-aware and systemic lens, understanding how children’s nervous systems, attachment, and relational context intersect

  • communicates clearly, collaboratively and respectfully with other professionals

  • creates assessment and intervention pathways that integrate with multi-disciplinary teams, court-involved files, and child-centred processes

  • offers a stable, compassionate clinician who can support children and adults through transitions, regulation work, and repair

Amanda believes that healing happens when people feel understood, supported, and equipped — not pushed, criticized, or labelled. She holds the perspective that children were never meant to carry adult pain, and parents were never meant to carry shame. What families need is clarity, compassion, and a safe space to grow. In her sessions, Amanda builds trust through curiosity and collaboration, helping clients make sense of their experiences and feel confident in their next steps.
