Let’s get this figured out for your kiddo(s).
We facilitate the discussions needed to move forward, and we will hold space for you to be heard.
Online family mediation is a voluntary, and confidential process where a highly trained, neutral third party (mediator) facilitates conversations between people in your family (the parties) to better understand one another, resolve conflict, and reach agreement(s) about, and the next steps for their family.
Every online family mediation with The Co-lab Company is conducted by a highly trained, certified comprehensive family mediator. That mediator will facilitate the conversations that you need to have to help restore consistency, peace, and respect in your unique family circumstances.
We work from a child-focused perspective, and our mandate is to sort out and resolve issues fairly, quickly, and at the lowest possible cost, while reducing the impact of disagreements on children, proactively minimizing conflict, and supporting each co-parent’s ability to work together in the future.

How can family mediation help with steps forward?
-
Family mediation is a collaborative approach to finding a separation plan that works for your family.
-
It’s important for separated parents to find a function approach to parent their children. We help parents develop plans that are workable for everyone and will give children the stability they need during this transition time in their family.
-
Blended families have unique experiences and conflicts that arise. Mediation between parents (and step parents) can often help all family members involved find solutions that carve out calm for everyone involved.
-
Whether it’s a child and parent, siblings or a grandparent and a daughter/son in-law that are struggling, mediation can be helpful to navigate conflict between family members in general.
-
Relationship mediation enables a couple to get on the same side and create a unified plan when faced with a stressor or conflict.
-
Reconciliation Mediation works with couples to create a new stage for moving forward. A place for a proactive and constructive plan for future challenges.
-
Legacy mediation is about creating a plan for the distribution and/or sharing of family assets.
-
Family mediation can guide family members through elder care planning and estate transactions, helping to sort through options and decisions.
flat fee family mediation
Most mediation is $5,000 to $25,000 in total with many “hidden fees”. Hourly billing can be stressful and unpredictable, leaving you unsure of what your final costs will be. To make things simpler and more transparent, Talia offers flat fee, fixed-timeline mediation packages. These are customized to give you the right level of support you need to finalize your next steps, without the stress of unpredictable costs.

How does it work?
It’s simple; really.
Please note that our team practices solely in a closed mediation, and shuttle format. We do not at any time have family members in the same room (in-person or virtually).
There is no reason that family members who are in the midst of conflict need to be in the same room across from one another to build a functional plan to move forward from that conflict.
Consultation (free)
If you’re considering working with us, you can reach out for a free consultation at any time. This isn’t a deep dive into your family’s situation—it’s just a chance to briefly share what you’re experiencing and what you’d like help with. It’s also a chance for you to see if we feel like the right fit for your family, and vice versa.
Intake Session (1 hour per session, $249 per hour per family member)
The intake session allows each family member to have a one-on-one conversation with us, where we learns more about your family’s unique situation.
You’ll have the chance to share anything that feels important to you, and rest assured, anything you discuss is kept confidential and won’t be shared with other family members.
Document disclosure ($299)
The family members provide our team with documents necessary to conduct the mediation.
Agreement to Mediate ($299)
Before mediation begins, each family member will sign an Agreement to Mediate. This sets the stage for the process and outlines what everyone can expect. Once this agreement is in place, everything discussed with us becomes part of the closed mediation process, ensuring a safe, confidential space for all involved.
Pre-mediation Sessions (1 hour per session, $249 per hour per family member)
In some cases, we might request pre-mediation sessions. These help you prepare for the actual mediation by learning how to communicate your thoughts clearly, manage your emotions, and know where to find extra support if needed.
If these sessions are requested, they’re mandatory for all parties involved.Mediation (2-4 hours per day, $299 per hour total)
Mediation is done in a shuttle format, meaning family members won’t be in the same room together.
Instead, we move between rooms to facilitate the conversation. This format helps everyone feel more comfortable and gives each person the space to speak freely.
Mediation sessions are typically 2-4 hours long, and there will be short breaks every two hours to ensure everyone stays focused and refreshed.Mediation Summary Report (one time $299 fee per family member)
After the mediation, we provide a Mediation Summary Report, which outlines only the agreements made during the process. This report doesn’t include details about what was discussed or anyone’s personal opinions—it’s strictly about the agreements that were reached.
Once you have the report, you’ll take it to a legal advisor for independent advice. From there, you can finalize the agreements, usually through a consent order in courtAdministrative fees ($249 per hour - commonly 2-6 hours)
